President, Asset Management and Assistance Center
Cory Phariss is the President of the Asset Management and Assistance Center. In this role, Mr. Phariss serves as the key advisor to the NCUA Board on matters like implementing liquidations, share insurance payouts, managing assets acquired from liquidations, and managing recoveries for the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund. He leads AMAC’s other responsibilities, which include technical assistance and consulting related to conservatorships, real estate and consumer loans, appraisals, bond claim analysis, and accounting records reconstruction.
Mr. Phariss most recently served as Deputy to the President of AMAC from 2017-2023. Throughout his career, he has served in various field, regional office, central office roles. His tenure with the NCUA includes positions in the Office of Executive Director, Office of Examination and Insurance, and as Director of Supervision in the former Region IV office. He joined the NCUA in 1999 as a field examiner in Corpus Christi, Texas, and has since led and participated on a variety of national initiatives, including the agency’s enterprise modernization efforts, and the taxi medallion resolution.
Mr. Phariss holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University.
